Keep on dreaming… the video.

The video for Eli Young Band’s new single “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” is here, and not to be a gushing fan girl, but… it’s perfect! I’ve probably said it a million times, but I can’t say it enough how much I love this song. It’s amazingly cool to see it launched into the mainstream. The two times I’ve heard EYB play it live (in July at Toby Keith’s and in October at Grand Casino Hinckley) I stand there with my eyes closed, singing along with every word, breathing in the moment like a total dork. I can’t help it — this song just does something to me. [right] look at what Aly gave me for Christmas!

The powerful message of the song reads all over James, Mike, Jon and Chris’ happy faces in the performance shots, which is just amazing to see. It’s genuine. They believe in this song because it’s their story. They’ve worked their tails off and chased their dreams… now they have even more success under their belt and more to come. Will Hoge and Eric Paslay wrote a bona fide hit.

The mysterious pyro I heard all about when they were filming the video was used at the perfect moment in the bridge when I always get chills (THIS moment). Our little Mick Fleetwood in the Small Town Kid shirt and an older musician at the end of his rope are at the heart of this story; and they represent how music touches everyone, young and old. There’s nothing like kids discovering the power of music.

Did you catch the Jet Black and Jealous in this shot? I did!

My only unanswered question is, what is Robert Earl Keen doing slummin’ it on the street in Nashville?

“If I was a young kid and heard this song it’d be empowering. I hope that maybe this song can convince a few people to go out and follow their dreams” — Mike Eli

Great, great, great work to all involved. It’s going to go far!
