Top 10 Tips for Fans: K102 Class of 2011 — Mystic Lake Casino Hotel 11.13.11
Today is the day! The biggest showcase of country’s new talent happens today, K102’s Class of 2011! If you’re one of the lucky listeners with tickets to the show at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, here are a few tips to make sure you have a great time.
1. Get there early.
The show starts at 6pm this year since there are six total acts, and doors open at 5. The seating is general admission, so first come first serve. Brantley, Scotty, Hunter and Frankie all have huge followings of super fans (made of mostly young girls) who will be camped out in line all day (beginning around noon, I’m guessing). I can’t wait to see how these very different groups of fans mix together. This leads us to our next tip…
2. Bring earplugs.
Just kidding. But I do predict this will be the LOUDEST audience of any Mystic Lake Casino Hotel event (EVER).
3. Photo machen.
Take lots of pictures. You’re getting to see great new talent that could go on to be HUGE stars in the future! Part of the thrill of discovering new artists is getting the chance to follow their career from the beginning. Thank you K102 for making it possible!
4. Get off your butt.
Help us get people excited for every single act of the night. Especially the first, who we’re most looking forward to seeing again, Frankie Ballard. Prepare to be impressed! Don’t let the people around you sit during his set. Stand up… get excited! It’s more fun that way, and chair dancing is just awkward!
5. Suit up.
Come dressed in your K102 gear for your chance to win last-minute meet and greets!
6. Nom nom.
The Mystic Showroom is in the back/west side of the complex past the buffet and Bingo hall. There is a cafeteria-style food area right by the event center if you get hungry while you wait! Mystic is a dry casino… so if you’re looking for the bar, you won’t find it.
7. Bring cash.
This will be my third Class of show, but for some reason I don’t remember merch being at any of the shows in the past. If there is merch, they will make a killing on t-shirts with Scotty’s face on them and Brantley BG Nation baseball hats or temporary tattoos (they should sell those). If there’s no merch, play the slots!
8. Signs policy.
This is my own personal policy: if you absolutely MUST bring a sign, keep them down after the artist starts playing. I understand that you’re proposing marriage to Hunter and used up all of your pink glitter puff paint to make the hearts, but please. Thanks.
9. Live from Mystic.
K102 will be broadcasting live from Mystic starting at 3pm. Last year JD Greene interviewed each of the artists live on-air in the middle of the casino floor, which was very cool. Get there early and take in all of the events of the day!
10. Tweet!
Follow @IndySkyMusic @K102 @FrankieBallard @EdensEdge @HunterHayes @ThompsonSquare @ScottyMcCreery and @BrantleyGilbert and tweet about the show with the #classof11 tag. If you aren’t able to go to the show, you’ll get every update you could’ve ever asked for by following along. There also may be a livestream (!!) of the show which we will let you know about if available, which would be AWESOME!
See you there!
